Did you know the Tour de France travels through three of our top ski resorts? Valloire, Tignes and Val Thorens. Sunweb boasts a large selection of accommodations for you to choose from. They range from cosy chalets to luxury apartments and from stunning Ski-in ski-out to budget-friendly accommodations. Keep on reading to find out more about these three fantastic ski areas.
Valloire is an authentic village with a great atmosphere located at an altitude of 1430 meters, at the foot of the Galibier pass. The chalet style village is surrounded by impressive mountain peaks and offers stunning views of the beautiful surroundings. The town has a lively centre with plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and a nightclub.
Tignes is the second largest ski resort in Europe and is part of the Val d’Isere ski area. Tignes village consists of four different sections: Val Claret at 2100m, Le Lac at 2100M, Lavachet at 2000m and Les Brévières at 1550m. Le Lac and Val Claret are the largest sections within Tignes. Le Lac is known as the heart of the resort, and Val Claret is for those who love nightlife.
Val Thorens is without a doubt one of the most unique ski destinations in France. Since it is one of the highest ski villages in Europe, it explains its popularity with visitors over the years. The lifts in Val Thorens start at your doorstep, and this is where your ski day ends as well, which makes skiing in Val Thorens a perfect ski to door destination. Val Thorens is part of the more significant ski region of Les Trois Valées, which also includes the ski areas of Courchevel, Les Menuires and Méribel.
